Shalom Mishpochah,

Tonight is  the 48th night of counting the Omer. This Saturday we will be celebrating Shavuot together.  My heart is filled with great excitement and anticipation.

In Acts 1 Yeshua addressed His talmidim before He ascended into heaven “not to leave Yerushalayim but to wait for ‘what the Father promised, which you heard about from me. For Yochanan used to immerse people in water; but in a few days, you will be immersed in the Ruach HaKodesh!… 8 But you will receive power when the Ruach HaKodesh comes upon you; you will be my witnesses both in Yerushalayim and in all Y’hudah and Shomron, indeed to the ends of the earth!” (Acts 1.4-5,8)

Then we read in Acts 2. 1-4: “The festival of Shavu’ot arrived, and the believers all gathered together in one place.  Suddenly there came a sound from the sky like the roar of a violent wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.  Then they saw what looked like tongues of fire, which separated and came to rest on each one of them.  They were all filled with the Ruach HaKodesh and began to talk in different languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak. “

And the result of that infilling on that Shavuot is recorded later in the chapter – “So those who accepted what he said were immersed, and there were added to the group that day about three thousand people.”  Acts 2.41  This pattern continues throughout the book of Acts.  That first century kehilah (congregation) reached their world with the Good News of Messiah as they were anointed and empowered by the Ruach.

Throughout our series, Bo Ruach, Adonai has encouraged us that He wants us all to be filled with His Ruach and to walk in a vibrant living relationship with Him.  The infilling of the Ruach will transform us as it did Kefa and the other talmidim.  The Ruach wants to empower us and flow through us with His gifts to impact our world.  He wants us to walk in step with Him exhibiting His fruit in our lives.

I encourage you to spend the next two days in earnest seeking and anticipation.  I truly believe Adonai wants to do something significant this weekend at Beth Emanuel.  I believe it is connected to the harvest.  In the sermon series this past month, Adonai showed us that the power of the Ruach is not for our personal benefit although our lives are improved and we experience personal transformation and release.  The power we receive is to be His witnesses.  I am believing for a fresh anointing on my life to come from Shavuot 2018 that will empower me with a new boldness and courage to share the hope I have in Messiah Yeshua and the eternal life I have obtained through my trust in Him.  My heart is burdened for the lost who so desperately need to know the love of G-d and their need for a Savior.  How will they know Him if they do not hear about Him?  How will they hear about Him if we do not go?

Join me in believing for a fresh impartation this weekend.  If you have never been filled with the Ruach with the evidence of speaking in tongues, this is your weekend.  If like me, you have been filled, expect MORE!  Adonai is a promise keeping G-d who promised to pour out His Ruach on all flesh.  Come join us this weekend with hearts filled with expectation and anticipation.

Brachot,

Rabbi Carol Calise
